Hi I’m Dom Jones and I work in Hewett’s IT division. I joined the team in January 2021, this being my first position as a recruitment consultant. After starting as a Trainee IT Recruitment Consultant, I quickly progressed and became a Recruitment Consultant, specialising in Software Development.

I initially graduated and worked as a primary school teacher. I loved helping children learn every day, and feel I have gained so many professional skills from working in the classroom, to which I plan to take into my new recruitment career. It has been a long-term ambition of mine to work within a business environment and so I grabbed the opportunity to join Hewett Recruitment with both hands.

It has certainly been a different time to start a new job, but I have loved speaking and getting to know the Hewett team, whether that be virtually or socially distanced! I feel very lucky to be part of such a successful, well-established company and I can’t wait to start building exceptional relationships with clients alongside working closely with candidates.

Outside the office, I am a keen musician and play the piano regularly. I like taking my young dog on long walks in the countryside and I’m a massive Aston Villa fan, to which I can’t wait to get back to Villa Park and watch them play.
